MAKE A WILL, LEAVE YOUR BARÇA LEGACY

TESTAMENT SOLIDARI 02

Through the Charitable Legacy initiative, we can help alleviate the suffering of even more children and young people and, at the same time, continue enhancing Barça’s greatness every day. And, as Culés, that is without doubt one of the best legacies we can leave behind.

The FC Barcelona Foundation is offering the Club’s members and fans the opportunity to make a Charitable Legacy and bequeath part or all of their estate to the Foundation’s social and humanitarian projects.

Charitable Legacy
The FC Barcelona Foundation presents the Charitable Legacy, which offers every fan of Barça, and especially the Club’s members, the opportunity to leave a timeless social legacy. This initiative makes it possible to donate part or all of your estate to the Barça Foundation, an organisation that for the past 30 years has been working to improve the lives of children and young people in varying situations of vulnerability, both in Catalonia and across the world.

  • A procedure that allows anyone to leave a gift in their will and designate the Barça Foundation as a beneficiary, choosing to allocate part or all of their estate to help fund the social and solidarity projects managed by FC Barcelona through its Foundation.

Already widely adopted in English-speaking countries, this practice is now being embraced by an increasing number of NGOs, social organisations and foundations across Spain.

  • Any person of legal age and with full mental capacity who wishes to donate part or all of their estate to support the social and solidarity projects managed by the Barça Foundation.

  • It is a very simple and affordable process, in which all you need to do is include the following details when making your will in the presence of a notary:

    1. Express your intention to donate, in the spirit of solidarity, part or all of your estate to the Barça Foundation.

    2. The person making the will must be of legal age and provide their full name, marital status, family status, national ID number and any other information the notary may require.

    3. Specify the full name of the institution receiving the legacy (in this case, ‘FC Barcelona Foundation’) and its tax identification number (CIF: G-60627445).

    4. Designate the institution as ‘sole beneficiary’, ‘joint beneficiary’ or ‘legatee’.

  • A Charitable Legacy allows you to designate the Barça Foundation as:

    1. Sole beneficiary: leaving all (100%) of your estate to the Foundation.

    2. Joint beneficiary: leaving a percentage or specific part of your estate to the Foundation.

    3. Legatee: bequeathing a material asset from your estate, such as real estate or a specific sum of money.

  • The notarial process typically costs around €50. The FC Barcelona Foundation will provide interested parties with access to legal advice throughout the process.

  • Yes, this is a secure process carried out with a notary present, and which includes every available guarantee. What is more, the FC Barcelona Foundation will provide interested parties with access to a legal advisory service throughout the entire process.

  • Yes, the Charitable Legacy is a completely reversible and amendable procedure while you are alive. This means that you can revoke or modify it at any time if you deem it necessary. However, only the person who signs the will can make changes during their lifetime.

  • The Barça Foundation will receive and manage the legacies. The full amount will be allocated to the social and solidarity causes that the Foundation has been operating in Catalonia and around the world over the past 30 years, with the aim of sparking real change in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

The Foundation currently supports close to half a million children and young people globally, working holistically in three major areas: education and protection, community action, and health and emotional wellbeing.

Some of its key initiatives and programs focus on combating child poverty, ensuring access to healthcare, advancing gender equality, supporting the social inclusion of vulnerable groups, preventing violence against children, aiding refugees and migrants, fostering cohesion and peace and promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing, among others.

  • When it comes to charitable legacies, the beneficiary organisation manages the resources donated based on current priorities and needs. Therefore, it is difficult to determine exactly which specific projects will benefit from the amount received.

What the Barça Foundation can guarantee is that all funds raised will be fully directed to the Foundation’s social and solidarity programs in support of vulnerable children and young people.

  • FC Barcelona has always demonstrated a clear commitment to society since its inception. For the past 30 years, the Barça Foundation has served as the Club’s charitable arm, developing social projects, both locally and globally, that use sport as a vehicle for inclusion and equality to help vulnerable children and young people.

In response to requests from some of the Club’s members, the Foundation now offers the relevant legal framework – the Charitable Legacy – to allow any Barça supporter to donate part or all of their estate to the Barça Foundation.

  • Choosing to leave a Charitable Legacy is a deeply personal and confidential gesture. Out of respect for this personal privacy and our shared values, public recognition or acknowledgements are not foreseen at this stage. The Barça Foundation views every Charitable Legacy as a demonstration of commitment, which it accepts with responsibility and heartfelt gratitude.
