The men’s first team’s return to the Spotify Camp Nou for an open doors training session this Friday was filled with excitement, emotion and a strong spirit of solidarity. The proceeds from the 21,795 tickets sold will go towards improving the lives of children with serious illnesses who are being treated in paediatric hospitals across Catalonia.

Polseres Blaugranes (Blaugrana Wristbands) was one of the main symbols of this historic day. The entertainment group that warmed up the crowd before the session wore shirts featuring the wristband, a symbol of the Barça family’s solidarity with children who are suffering the most.

It was also a deeply moving occasion for children battling serious illnesses and for young beneficiaries of various Barça Foundation programmes who were able to experience this historic moment in person. Some of these children stepped onto the pitch of the new stadium before training began and later watched the session alongside their families. At the end, several players came over to greet them in the area where they were seated.

Meanwhile, around 300 children and young people taking part in the Foundation’s social inclusion, education and health programmes attended the event from the stands of the new Spotify Camp Nou.

Polseres Blaugranes: hope and wellbeing

The Polseres Blaugranes project, led by the Barça Foundation, aims to enhance the emotional wellbeing of hospitalised children and teenagers (and their families) through emotional support, recreational activities and psychological assistance. It also promotes the development of complementary and innovative therapies that help improve recovery and quality of life.

These initiatives are carried out in collaboration with paediatric hospitals in Catalonia and around the world, with the main goal of humanising care and support for children and young people with serious illnesses, based on the specific needs of each centre.
