On the occasion of the Champions League match between FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain this Wednesday at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, the Barça Foundation has planned an initiative in support of the Xana Foundation, created in memory of the daughter of Luis Enrique, former Barça coach and current manager of the French team.
The shirts worn by Barça players during the match will be auctioned, and the funds raised will go to the Barça Foundation’s Polseres Blaugranes (Blaugrana Wristbands) programme, which aims to humanise the long-term hospital stays of children with serious illnesses. Part of the proceeds will be allocated specifically to the Xana Foundation.
This is part of the collaboration launched a few months ago between the two foundations and will soon be reinforced with a unique experience: a Meet & Greet between a child with a serious illness and players from Barça’s first team.
For their part, PSG will feature the logo of the foundation and will also auction their players’ shirts, with the proceeds going entirely to the Xana Foundation. This organisation, led by Luis Enrique, provides comprehensive medical, social and emotional support to children with serious illnesses and their families.
The auction of the Barça shirts will go live in the coming days on specialised platforms and will be announced via the club’s official channels.
