POLSERES BLAUGRANES
FC Barcelona Foundation project to improve the emotional welfare of children during their stay in hospital
The “Blaugrana Bracelet” project promotes initiatives developed in collaboration with children’s hospitals in Catalonia and around the world. The main objective is to humanise the attention and care of children and young adults suffering from serious illnesses according to their identified needs in each heath care environment and in palliative care at home, much needed in situation where initiatives can be carried out at home.
The programme attempts on the one and to improve the emotional welfare of children and young people during their stay in hospital, as well as those of their family, creating spaces and an atmosphere that can help them with their illness, and on the other strengthen innovative complementary treatments to the conventional, that can bring about an improvement in the development of the illness.
The bracelet, with blaugrana colors, is a symbol of solidarity of the blaugrana community’s wish to help children and young people who are suffering. The bracelet is not just an accessory but also each one symbolises the laces on the boots of our athletes and attempts to reflect the Club’s commitment to the fight of children and young people in extremely difficult circumstances.
The program was inspired by the television series "Polseres Vermelles", created by Albert Espinosa. Espinosa himself, an example of some who has overcome a serious childhood illness, will take an active part in the programme as an ambassador, helping to design different initiatives and explaining his own experience to the children and young adults.
"Blaugrana Bracelet" will initially be developed in hospitals in Catalonia and around the world.
The blaugrana bracelet is now on sale, priced at 9,99 euros, but delivery will not be until the end of January. The item will be on sale at the FC Barcelona official stores and store.fcbarcelona.com. All the money raised will go to the Blaugrana Wristband project at the Foundation.
