Edmílson Foundation: actions to change the rules of the game

Building a future for the most vulnerable young people

The Edmílson Foundation was founded in Brazil in 2006 by former footballer José Edmílson. The aim is to help build a better future for children through education and professionalisation, making people that will go ot do further things to boost social inclusion. It includes an educational program, Sembrando sueños (sowing dreams), aimed at children from 6 to 14 years to which it provides school support and sports, computer and performing arts activities.

In addition to this collaboration, the Edmílson Foundation supports the Barça Foundation's violence prevention program in the Maré favela, in Rio de Janeiro, and other Latin American countries.

Our commitment to the Edmílson Foundation

The Barça Foundation, in line with its strategy to foster social inclusion, signed an agreement the Edmílson Foundation in 2006 with the aim of promoting actions among the most vulnerable young people in Brazil, based mainly on sport as a tool for development.

We have an educational program titled "Sembrando Sueños" that work with children aged between 6 and 14 years.

“Sembrando Sueños” is conveyed through activities based mainly on sports, computers and the performing arts.

José Edmílson participated in the presentation of the results of the Violence Prevention Program in the Maré favela in Rio de Janeiro.
