COLLECTIVE BENEFICIARIES ASSISTED DURING THE 2022-23 SEASON
1. NUMBER OF BENEFICIARIES OF THE BARÇA FOUNDATION’S OWN PROJECTS:
The total number of children and young people is 141,278.
2. SELECTION CRITERIA FOR PROJECT BENEFICIARIES:
- Participation in projects is always elective , free of charge and voluntary.
- Several projects are carried out in conjunction with the social welfare departments of the territory in question, to ensure that the most vulnerable boys and girls have access to our activities – with these vulnerable groups given priority places.
- For international projects, the organisations carrying out the initiatives are the ones that choose which children and young people, who are also from vulnerable communities, take part.
- In the Bullying Prevention Program implemented in schools, it is the teaching staff who are given (voluntary) training, using content which they later pass on to the students.
- In the Paediatric Emotional Wellbeing Program, the children involved are selected by Catalonia’s leading paediatric hospitals and by organisations which work with seriously ill children.
3. DELIVERY AND SERVICES CARRIED OUT:
- Community action programs with refugees: participation in socio-educational sporting activities/extracurricular sessions supervised by coaches and educators who have been trained and evaluated by the Barça Foundation. These are for both the refugee population and members of the host community.
- Social inclusion projects in Catalonian municipalities using the SportNet methodology: socio-educational sporting activities/extracurricular sessions overseen by coaches and educators trained and assessed by the Barça Foundation.
- Projects in penitentiaries: a process of instilling the SportNet methodology into centres within Catalonia’s women’s and juvenile justice system. Positive parenting activities held in centres for adult males.
- Education and safeguarding programs: participation in socio-educational sporting activities/extracurricular sessions overseen by coaches and educators trained and assessed by the Barça Foundation.
- Joves Futur + project: participation in training courses, as well as sessions on mentoring, psychosocial monitoring and labour-market insertion.
- Bullying Prevention Program: activities carried out within the subject areas of Physical Education and Art, as well as tutorials.
- Health and emotional wellbeing programs: participation in socio-educational sporting activities/extracurricular sessions overseen by coaches and educators trained and assessed by the Barça Foundation.
- Paediatric Emotional Wellbeing Program. Involvement in activities/encounters with FC Barcelona sportspeople, virtual visits to the Camp Nou via a remote-controlled robot etc.
- Donations program: social organisations in Catalonia enrolled in this program receive invitations to attend Barça B and Women’s matches, tickets for the club museum, as well as FC Barcelona clothing and merchandise.
- Periodically, entertainment activities such as visits to the Camp Nou or an end-of-season festival are held.
