Access to water in Calakmul

The FC Barcelona Foundation and Scotiabank are working together with the organisation Fondo para la Paz on a community development project in the municipality of Calakmul (Mexico). Participating in the project are more than 650 children and young people from ten communities. ‘Community development in Calakmul’ is a project which encourages the provision of spaces for participants and their families to meet and communicate with community leaders, authorities and committees. In addition, the project features physical activity sessions built around acquiring skills for life. And what is more, it also includes workshops on socio-environmental issues and the putting into practice of community projects aiming to improve access to water and sanitation in schools.

Playing for Inclusion in the district of Capotillo (Santo Domingo)

The FC Barcelona Foundation is working with Save the Children Dominican Republic to implement the Scotiabank-funded "Education and Protection through Sport: Playing for Inclusion" project in the district of Capotillo (Santo Domingo), which supports more than 1,600 disadvantaged  children, adolescents and young people and their families. In a context characterised by violence and poverty, this initiative aims to create safe environments and, through sport, contribute to their development and inclusion in the community.

The project promotes the creation of safe, healthy and inclusive environments for children and adolescents in vulnerable situations, prioritising education and protection against violence through sport and physical activity.
