'The triumph of dreams' The first team players dream of being invincible, being part of a legend and winning titles. The children who take part in the Barça Foundation and UNICEF projects dream of being able to attend school, have some sports kit to play with and to have a future.

A commitment to demand the rights of children all over the world

To commemorate Universal Children’s Day in 1989 when the UN General Assembly passed the Universal Convention on Children’s Rights, the Barça Foundation and UNICEF carried out a number of activities:

The Children’s Stand at the Barça-Màlaga game.

Elements of the alliance between the Foundation and UNICEF featured in the Camp Nou Experience.

Trip to South Africa to visit joint projects.

The Barça Foundation and UNICEF: a decade working together

Both organisations launched a campaign linking Barça’s sporting triumphs with the success of the social projects featured in the agreement with the UN agency.

The projects, which have benefited nearly a million people, were organised in South Africa, Ghana, Brazil and China using sport as an educational and development tool.
