Virtual Interaction

Bring the magic of Barça to the most vulnerable groups

The Robot project, started in 2017, allows hospitalized children or people in vulnerable situations, who cannot travel to the FC Barcelona facilities, to live the "Barça" experience through a robot with audio and video connections. The activity is carried out thanks to the company AWABOT, which has donated the robot, and is carried out with the collaboration and support of a team of volunteer members, who accompany the robot, which can be remote controlled by the participants.

Barça in first person

From the robot Pol to the robot Joyce

In the company of FC Barcelona Foundation volunteers and Pol the Robot , who resides in the FC Barcelona Museum, children benefitting from this project have been able to carry out virtual visits of the Spotify Camp Nou and the Museum. And now, through Joyce the Robot, beneficiaries from a variety of the Foundation’s projects can also interact with women’s football first-team players and tour the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Robot Joyce also helps to extend the robot programme to other beneficiaries, such as female inmates at the Brians 1 Penitentiary Centre, refugees camps, children at risk in other parts of Catalonia and other socially vulnerable communities.
