The Barça Foundation's pre-season will continue at 12 noon this Sunday, 25th September, meeting with Gimnàstic de Tarragona on field 5 of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. It will be a special morning because it is part of the European Week of Sport, a European Parliament initiative that has taken place since 2015 to promote physical activity throughout the continent.

As is customary, two matches will be played simultaneously during the meeting with Nàstic, so that all players get playing time. This year will see new additions to the Barça Genuine Foundation line-up, a team made up of men and women with intellectual disabilities, although their début will not take place this Sunday.

Events scheduled across the continent

This year, the European Week of Sport will be celebrated at the same time throughout Europe between 23rd and 30th September, with a wide range of activities and events organised by partner countries, regional and local organisations, sports entities, educational centres, universities, companies and workplaces. Catalonia has participated since its first edition via the General Secretariat of Sport and Physical Activity, calling for action and promoting the #BeActive campaign. It is within this context that Sunday's match between two Catalan teams such as the likes of Barça Genuine Foundation and Nàstic Genuine, takes place. This will be the third time they have met on the pitch, this time to encourage participation in sports as a tool for integration tool and, at the same time, one that is beneficial for your health.
