This Monday morning the Dallas Mavericks, in collaboration with NBA Cares and the FC Barcelona Foundation, hosted a training camp at the Palau Blaugrana for 70 children enrolled in the FCB Foundation's El Carmel ‘FutbolNet’ centre and for students enrolled in the IES Ferran Tallada.

The children, under the guidance of the Dallas Mavericks players, focused on a series of games and drills meant to improve basketball fundamentals. The session, which started at 13.00, also focused on passing, dribbling, shooting and the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle. Barça Regal players – Todorovic, Abrines, Jasikevicius, Sada, Navarro, Mickeal, Tomic and Huertas – also participated in the session, as well as ex-NBA players Detlef Schrempf  and Peja Stojakovic. President Sandro Rosell and the director Ramon Cierco also stopped by the training camp.

Second NBA training camp and the Foundation’s beneficiaries

This isn’t the first time that NBA Cares and the FC Barcelona Foundation have worked together. In September of 2010, the two organizations collaborated to bring about a training camp in Santa Coloma de Gramenet for children that benefit from FCB Foundation initiatives. NBA Cares was created to carry on the NBA’s long tradition of working on social projects in the United States and other parts of the world.
