In Italy, the Barça Foundation works with unaccompanied foreigners/refugees between the ages of 12 and 18, supervised by the Italian Ministry of the Interior at the first reception centres in Sicily, with the aim of fostering positive social relations, enhancing social skills and improving their emotional well-being.

The program takes a specific approach so that these young people, who are at such a high vulnerability, acquire positive models and references and have strong support networks. Sessions with the FutbolNet methodology are also offered to encourage interaction between refugee and local children and to combat stigma.
