Lifting the spirits of unwell children

A project in collaboration with the leading hospitals in Catalonia

The ‘Nadal tot l’any’ (Christmas All Year Round) project aims to improve the wellbeing of children and young people through reinforcing positive emotions.

This project is aimed at unwell children and adolescents who have been admitted to or are being treated in hospital, as well as minors under the guardianship of the DGAIA (General Management for Care for Children and Adolescents).

The Barça Foundation has an agreement with leading hospitals in Catalonia for visits by professional players from FC Barcelona: Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, Hospital Vall d'Hebron, Hospital de Sant Pau, Hospital de Barcelona, Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, Parc Taulí Hospital Universitari de Sabadell and the Hospital de Nens de Barcelona. This agreement includes the traditional Christmas-time visits from players from the women’s and men’s first-team football teams.

"CHRISTMAS IS ALL YEAR" PROJECT

A small but big gesture to put illness in the background

Over the course of each season, sportspeople from the Club’s professional sections (basketball, roller hockey, handball and futsal) and the FC Barcelona Atlètic and Juvenil football squads also visit hospitals or participants in other Foundation projects.

Through these visits, the players aim to make time spent in hospital or stays at children’s care homes more amenable. Players bring gifts, sign autographs, have their photos taken and spend time with the children, providing them with emotionally positive experiences.
