Edmilson attends FutbolNet Festival in Lima

More than 1200 children from various schools in the area participated in an event organised by the Barça Foundation and ScotiaBank

The FutbolNet Festival in Lima is set to provide a fun experience for more than 1,200 children alongside former FC Barcelona player José Edmilson, between this past weekend’s activities and a sequel on September 1st and 2nd.

The objective of this festival is to offer a social inclusion programme through the FutbolNet methodology, which is based on football and physical activity in general as tools for reflection and agents of change to improve the lives of children and young people in vulnerable situations.

As is customary at these events, the main activity consisted of football matches with the FutbolNet methodology. Other sporting activities were carried out to intensively implement the values of the project and of FC Barcelona: Humility, effort, ambition, respect and teamwork.

In total, 18 FutbolNet Scotiabank Festivals will be held over the next three years in countries such as Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and El Salvador. The first was held in Mexico in June 2017.

The objective of the Barça Foundation and Scotiabank is to achieve participation from more than 18,000 young people living in difficult conditions, and for the festivals to represent a safe, educational place for them.
