The Barça Foundation has launched a new communications campaign to raise awareness of and promote its Charitable Legacy initiative, which allows anyone to allocate part of their assets, a specific amount, or the entirety of their estate to the social and humanitarian projects the Foundation carries out in Catalonia and around the world.

The campaign, which will run across media outlets and digital platforms, centres on a particularly moving audiovisual piece designed to connect with the solidarity and generosity of Barça supporters. The film features a grandfather’s final message to his family during his funeral. After recalling the experiences that gave meaning to his life, the protagonist reveals that he still has one more list of things to do: continue helping others through the legacy he leaves behind. The film concludes by showing the impact of Barça Foundation projects in areas such as education, inclusion, health, support for refugees, and child protection.

How beautiful it is to keep living after having lived it all is the message that closes the campaign and captures the spirit of the initiative.

Through this story, the Barça Foundation aims to highlight a simple yet powerful idea: the values that unite millions of Barça supporters can continue creating opportunities long after a person’s lifetime. The campaign seeks to move people emotionally while also normalising a form of charitable giving that remains largely unknown to much of society.

Although charitable wills are already used by many foundations and non-profit organisations, there is still significant scope to raise public awareness of this option. Within the field of sports club foundations, it also remains relatively uncommon. Through this campaign, the Barça Foundation positions itself as one of the few football-related organisations actively promoting this type of charitable legacy, drawing on the unique emotional bond that connects the Club with its supporters.

The Barça Foundation’s Charitable Legacy initiative allows anyone to dedicate part of their assets, a specific amount, or, if they wish, the entirety of their estate to the Foundation’s social programmes. It is therefore not a mechanism reserved for wealthy individuals, nor does it necessarily require leaving the whole estate. Donors may name the Barça Foundation as heir to part of their estate or leave a specific legacy amount.

The legacy supports the Barça Foundation’s programmes in education, child protection, health, refugee assistance, and social inclusion. For more than 30 years, the Foundation has worked to improve the lives of vulnerable children and young people, and its programmes currently reach more than 700,000 children and young people worldwide.

It is a simple, secure, and reversible process:

-It is formalised before a notary.
-It has an approximate cost of €50.
-It can be amended or revoked at any time.
-The Foundation provides free legal advice throughout the process.

A Charitable Legacy allows the values represented by Barça to continue helping children and young people long beyond a person’s lifetime.
