The FC Barcelona Foundation is launching a new episode of its podcast featuring Marc Crosas. In this conversation, the former FC Barcelona player reflects on his visit to the socio-educational project jointly promoted by the Barça Foundation and Scotiabank in Mexico, in collaboration with Fundación Don Bosco, and shares his impressions of the positive impact this initiative is generating among children and adolescents.

The episode is now available on the usual FC Barcelona Foundation podcast channels: You Tube and Spotify.

During the episode, Crosas recounts his experience in the state of Morelos, where he had the opportunity to learn about the programme’s activities, speak with participating young people, their families and educational teams, and witness how sport can become a powerful tool for personal development, coexistence and social transformation. The project is implemented in highly marginalized neighbourhoods and public spaces, promoting the restoration of community ties, social cohesion and peacebuilding at the local level.

The former footballer particularly highlights the role of the SportNet socio-educational methodology, developed by the Barça Foundation, in fostering skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication and emotional management. He also underlines the commitment and active involvement of the participating adolescents, who become positive role models within their communities.

"It was a very enriching experience to hear the young people’s stories and to see first-hand how this project provides them with tools and opportunities to build their future. Its impact goes far beyond sport," says Marc Crosas during the interview.

The podcast also features Danilo de la Pava, Head of Community Affairs at Scotiabank International, and José Antonio Sandoval “Toño”, founder of Fundación Don Bosco, who share their perspectives on the importance of partnerships between social organizations and the private sector in driving initiatives that create meaningful impact within communities.

During the conversation, the guests discuss the key challenges faced by many adolescents living in vulnerable environments and explain how the project helps strengthen their emotional, social and academic well-being. They also emphasize the involvement of families and communities in a model designed to generate sustainable long-term change.

More than 300 beneficiaries

The programme implemented by the Barça Foundation, Scotiabank and Fundación Don Bosco currently benefits 300 adolescents from the communities of Cuernavaca, Emiliano Zapata, Temoac and Juan Morales in the state of Morelos. Through sports activities, educational workshops and community engagement initiatives, participants develop personal and social skills that support their growth and empower them to become agents of change within their communities.

This new podcast episode provides a close and inspiring look at the value of sport as a tool for education and social inclusion, while giving a voice to the people who make it possible, every day, to transform the lives of hundreds of young people in Mexico.
