Inside FC Barcelona's institutional visit to Israel
Following the guidelines of its new strategic plan, the Foundation FC Barcelona wants to get closer and make its social projects available to communities that are in conflict around the world. For this reason a delegation of the club, headed by first vice-president Jordi Cardoner, travelled to Israel on Sunday to raise awareness of the social programmess of the FCB Foundation with the aim of tying up partnerships that will make it possible to implement projects in this area.
The idea is to use the potential of the social activities of the institution to establish bridges of dialogue between Israeli and Palestinian communities and make sport, football in particular, a tool for the peaceful resolution of conflicts and the promotion of harmony, especially among children and youth.
The trip was also made by Foundation executive director Nacho Mestre and the Foundation’s director general Mària Vallés. The main institutional meetings of the trip are:
Meeting with Isaac Herzog, president of the Labor Party of Israel.
Visit to the Dana Hospital for Children, the Kfat Ha'Noar Boarding School and the Israel Association of Community Centres of Tel Aviv.
Meeting with Reuven Rivlin, President of Israel.
Visits to social integration projects with Jewish and Arab children of Hapoel Katamon FC.
Reception with institutional representatives in the town of Yeruham and meeting with the Patriarch of the Orthodox Church in Jerusalem.
Visit to Maccabi Tel Aviv and meeting with its sports director, Jordi Cruyff.
