Barça Foundation organises FutbolNet festival in Colombia for 1,300 local boys and girls
Festival organised in conjunction with Scotiabank, to be held across two weekends, promoting values and fair play through the practice of football.
The Barça Foundation, together with Scotiabank Colpatria, has organised the FutbolNet festival for the second consecutive year in Colombia. The event was opened by former World Cup winner Edmílson, who spoke about his experiences and lessons on July 28. "It has been a very fruitful day" said the ex-Barça player. "We have been sharing the FutbolNet methodology with the boys and girls, one that uses sport and values to tackle difficult situations. The Barça Foundation has made very successful use of these methods in more than 50 countries."
1,300 Colombian children were there to learn from Edmílson, who is now a Barça Foundation's Ambassador for social programmes, and who is in Bogotá from late July to early August to attend the FutbolNet festival, an initiative being promoted by Scotiabank Colpatria to foster values through sport.
For the second year, FutbolNet is bringing these young Colombians together over two weekends, July 28 and 29, and August 4 and 5, in Bogotá National Park, where they are encouraged to work as a team, and learn leadership and other skills to help them to overcome different situations that can occur during their everyday lives.
