FCB Foundation Donates Kit to Africa Campaign

The FC Barcelona Foundation has donated shirts, 5 signed footballs, a pair of keeper’s gloves and boots of the Barça stars to help the plight of people in the Horn of Africa

The FCB Foundation handed over the kit to aid the ‘Together for Africa’ campaign, which will try to involve the greatest number of people with a prize draw.  The kit included 10 shirts, 5 footballs signed by a number of players such as Carles Puyol, Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Piqué, a pair of gloves used and signed by Victor Valdés and a signed pair of Leo Messi’s boots.

The campaign is jointly organised by the La Caixa savings bank foundation, the Real Madrid Foundation and the FC Barcelona Foundation in benefit of UNICEF, UNHCR and FAO.  The aim is to raise money to meet with the humanitarian crisis in the Horn of Africa.

The ‘Together for Africa’ project was launched in the CaixaForum in Madrid on 9th December.  Among those present at the ceremony were Carles Rexach, adviser to the president of FC Barcelona, and Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid’s director of institutional relations.
