FC Barcelona sponsor Turkish Airlines will from May 1 to 10 be holding a charity auction on E-bay where fans will be able to bid for five portraits of first team members drawn by Craig Redman and coloured in by the players themselves. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Piqué and Puyol all took part in this improvised art class a few weeks ago, adding their chosen colours to the original works by Redman.
Donation to Fundació FC Barcelona
The airline’s project is called ‘Passenger portraits’ and forms part of a scheme to bring together art and football. The money raised by this initiative will be donated to the FC Barcelona Foundation. Turkish Airlines is organising a similar project with five Manchester United players, which will raise money for the Premiership club’s own foundation.
